Core Beliefs at Creekside Church
...that there is one true God, creator of all things, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Timothy 1:17)
...that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the world, and rose again from the dead. (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
...that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the supreme source of truth and the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and practice. (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
...that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23)
...that the forgiveness of sins is available only by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is available to those who by faith, accept Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9)
Christian baptism is one of two ordinances that Jesus instituted for the church. Just before His ascension, Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20). These instructions specify that the church is responsible to teach Jesus’ word, making disciples, and baptizing those disciples. These things are to be done everywhere (“all nations”) until “the very end of the age.” So, if for no other reason, baptism has importance because Jesus commanded it. Article for more info!
...that the Holy Spirit is at work in the world today to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He dwells in every believer from the moment of salvation and equips them with gifts for the building up of the church. Obedience and fruit are a result of Him. (John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:22-25)
...that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to love God, love people, and make disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:1-16)
.We believe that people were created to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin, or eternally with God because of grace through faith in Jesus for salvation. The penalty for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (John 2:25, 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15John 2:25, 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)
FAQ
HAVE QUESTIONS? >>> WE HAVE ANSWERS
At Creekside Church, our commitment to unity and clarity is not about conformity but about creating a safe and welcoming space where we can grow together in faith, respect, and love, regardless of our differences.
- Bucket 1 (Non-Negotiables): These are the foundational principles we firmly grasp and hold close. We stand unwavering in our commitment to Gospel Doctrine, affirming the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of God's Word, as well as the Creeds of the Christian faith, which are outlined in our Statement of Beliefs.
- Bucket 2 (Agree to Disagree): In this bucket, we acknowledge that there may be differing perspectives among us, and that's okay. We maintain unity while allowing room for respectful disagreement on matters like the Sacraments, Women in leadership roles, and Spiritual Gifts. These are areas where we embrace diversity of thought within our church family.
- Bucket 3 (Completely Open-Handed): Here, we celebrate our diversity as a congregation. We approach topics such as End Times, Political Views, and Style of Worship with completely open hands. We recognize that these are areas where personal convictions and preferences may vary widely, and we honor each individual's freedom to hold their own perspectives.
- Church Governance and Leadership Structure
Creekside Church is a nonprofit 501c3 organization with a clear defined structure outlined in our bylaws. We operate as an Elder/Board Approved and Staff-led organization, ensuring accountability, transparency, and commitment to our mission.
- What is a Network Church vs Denominational?
Creekside Church is not affiliated with any specific denomination. Instead, we are proudly connected to a Global Church planting organization called Stadia Church Planting, as well as a local Network known as Engage Churches. These affiliations provide us with accountability and a diverse and supportive community, enabling us to fulfill our mission and share our faith with a broader, global perspective.
At Creekside Church, we maintain a stance of neutrality when it comes to politics, firmly believing that no political party is inherently more Christian than another. Here's what you should know about our perspective:
- Political Neutrality: We do not align ourselves with any particular political party or promote the idea that one party is more Christian than another. Instead, we encourage thoughtful and informed engagement with the political process, recognizing that Christians may hold a variety of political views.
- Citizens of Heaven: As Christians, we see ourselves as citizens of Heaven, all under the Kingship of Jesus Christ. Our primary allegiance is to God's Kingdom, and we strive to live out the values of love, justice, and compassion that Christ exemplified.
- Unity and Global Kingdom: Our focus is on unity and building the Global Kingdom of God. We embrace the diversity of our congregation, believing that the church is for all people, irrespective of their background, tribe, tongue, or nation. We work together to advance God's Kingdom on Earth and spread His love to all corners of the world.
At Creekside Church, we hold a deep belief in the significance of spiritual gifts as outlined in the Bible. Here's what you need to know:
- Belief in All Spiritual Gifts: We wholeheartedly believe in all the gifts of the Spirit. These gifts are not only real but are actively present within our church community. We recognize them as powerful tools given to the church to empower and equip us for our mission of Loving God, Loving People, and making disciples.
- Unity in Diversity: In accordance with the teachings of the Bible, we understand that we are one body with many members, each possessing unique gifts. These gifts are not for self-glorification but are for the common good, edification of the church, and ultimately, to bring glory to Jesus.
- Biblical Guidance: To ensure that spiritual gifts are used in an orderly and edifying manner within our public gatherings, we follow the wisdom and instruction of the Apostle Paul as outlined in 1 Corinthians 14. This guidance helps us maintain an atmosphere of love, respect, and spiritual growth.
At Creekside Church, we are committed to nurturing and empowering leaders based on their God-given gifts, calling, and character. Our approach is rooted in biblical principles, and we seek to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all members, regardless of gender, can contribute and thrive in their leadership roles. Here's what you should know:
- Biblical Qualifications: We believe that leadership roles within the church should be open to both women and men based on biblical qualifications. We prioritize characteristics such as character, competency, calling, and giftedness as the key factors in identifying leaders.
- Complementarian Without Hierarchy: We adhere to a complementarian perspective without enforcing a hierarchy based solely on gender. This means we recognize and celebrate the unique design of men and women by God to complement and serve one another in the home, the church, and society. Our emphasis is on mutual respect, cooperation, and collaboration rather than rigid gender-based hierarchies.

At Creekside Church, our beliefs about marriage and sexuality are rooted in our interpretation of biblical teachings. Here is a summary of our stance:
1. Biblical Marriage: We firmly believe that biblical marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to be between one man and one woman. We see it as a profound reflection of the Gospel message and a representation of God's plan for human relationships. This perspective guides our understanding of marriage as a cornerstone of our faith community.
2. Sexuality and Sin: According to our beliefs, all sexual activity outside the context of biblical marriage is considered sinful. We uphold the biblical standards for sexual purity and view them as essential for living in accordance with God's teachings.
-Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:1-9; Mark 10:1-12
