CREEKSIDE YOUTH >>>
Our mission is simple: we want to radically love Jesus and our community while equipping youth’s to be disciple-makers. We hope that we see Jesus made known in our community and all the way to the ends of the earth by the influence of CRKSD YTH.
At Creekside Youth, we firmly believe that every youth (6th-12th grade) who walks into our lives is seen and loved by God. We believe that God has a purpose and calling for their lives: to love Him, love people, and make disciples. We gather together for worship, to study God's Word, to pray, and to foster relationships. Our goal is for youth to experience the joy of being a disciple of Jesus and understand how simple it is to be a disciple-maker who impacts the lives of others.
GATHERING RHYTHMS
SUNDAY NIGHT (6th - 12th GRADE)
Location: Burnt Hickory Community Center
Every Sunday night, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, our youth gather at the Burnt Hickory Community Center. Our aim is for youth to encounter Jesus, follow Him wholeheartedly, and grow within a community of others just like them! These nights begin with pizza and drinks ($2), games, and a space for youth to hang out with one another. Following this, we move into a service featuring worship and a challenging yet practical message—everything centered around Jesus! After the service, we break into small groups to discuss the message and what following Jesus looks like for them. Small groups provide the space to be authentic, known, and to start experiencing the life Jesus offers.
Belong Nights (6th-12th Grade)
Location: Burnt Hickory Community Center
These special nights happen once a month and revolve around a singular focus: letting youth in our community know there's a place where they can be fully known and deeply loved, a place where they can truly belong. These nights will have a special event, free food, worship, and a message. Our goal is for youth to leave feeling loved, acknowledged, welcomed, and that they ultimately see Jesus for who he is. We firmly believe that Jesus alone can fulfill you, and we want you to know there is a place where you can belong...with his family!
THE POD
BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH
Our goal is the foster a culture of authentic conversation rooted in the love of Jesus. We want to walk through ideas such as love, faith, purity, and culture, inspiring the younger generation to live a life, fully consumed and unashamed of the gospel. We hope that you feel loved and inspired, and that you learn something from today’s episode.
YOUTH ARE THE CHURCH
We value the next generation as the church of today! When we gather on Sunday morning we are gathering with all of our family who has been adopted into the family of God by the blood of Jesus. We want our youth to know that Creekside Church is their home, not just Creekside youth. We do this by incorporating them into part of the gathering on Sunday morning. We hope you can join us on Sunday mornings, and we hope you know you belong here!
Youth Section:
We know as a youth, you need your space. So we created it. When you come on Sunday mornings we have a section just for you in our front and center rows. We love to pack it out and see youth bring the energy. They are some of the most passionate worshipers in the room.
FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
SUNDAY NIGHTS:
We love to lift up the name of Jesus and teach Youth how to do the same in their lives! All of our teachings will be centered around who is Jesus, what has he done, what is he doing, and what is he going to do. We love to give practical applications of how youth can apply the teaching to their lives and grow in their walk with Jesus.
YTH BIKE CLASS:
Here at Creekside Youth, we want to make sure we are intentional about fulfilling the Great Commandment and Commission. Our Mission Statement is to Radically love and Simply Equip disciples makers and we believe youth are in some of the best environments to do this. They just need to be taught how. Bike Class is for those who are taking their next step in following Jesus and beginning to answer the call of being a disciple or for those who just want to learn some of the core truths about what being a follower of Jesus really means. This class goes through our “Making Disciples is like Riding a Bike Material”. It will take place during Creekside Youth for 4 weeks once a semester.
YTH EXPERIENCE GROUPS:
Experience Groups are the backbone of Creekside Church. Our goal is to simply equip one another to make disciples who make disciples. Information doesn't always lead to transformation which is why we want to put the "4 core" and ways of Jesus into practice. So we gather together weekly to “experience” the 4 core principles of the bike analogy with other youth. This is were lasting transformation happens!
We are having youth lead these groups! This is how we create a space for the third part of the bike which is “teaching” others how to follow Jesus. We believe youth are disciple makers and that no one understands youth more than youth themselves.
The RESET:
The RESET is our student discipleship retreat that takes place at the back end of winter break. We go to Woodland Christian Camp to allow students to disconnect from the hurry and dryness of life to refocus their faith and discipline on what really matters. Knowing and experiencing Jesus.
BEHOLD:
Student Summer camp is a week-long trip where students get around each other for a week of worship and Beholding. Our hope behind summer camps is that students will grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, one another, and will come back inspired to live on mission!
